Argentina's Secretary of Finance, Federico Furiase, analyzed the foundations of the current economic situation on Tuesday and sent a message of confidence to the agribusiness sector, assuring that the country is undergoing an unprecedented process of ordering. The official emphasized that the current macroeconomic stability is not a result of external imposition, but a planned strategy. "This time is different because there was a stabilization that occurred by decision of President Javier Milei and his economic team; it was not imposed by the market," Furiase stated, also highlighting the social backing and political support in Congress to advance structural reforms.
A favorable scenario for agriculture
For the Secretary of Finance, 2026 presents as a key year for productive investment in the agricultural sector. "This is a special year to invest, without a currency gap, with reductions in withholdings, good commodity prices, and macroeconomic stability," the national official stressed. He also valued the approval of structural reforms, such as the new Labor Modernization Law and the Fiscal Innocence Law.
Finally, regarding the influence of the international context, the official stated that "the best thing to have for any external shock is a healthy macroeconomy, a fiscal surplus, a recapitalized Central Bank, and an orderly monetary system."
