Amid growing discontent among users, thousands of people experienced widespread failures this Wednesday in the services of Mercado Pago and Mercado Libre. One of the most reported problems was the lack of credit for amounts after attempting transfers from bank accounts to Mercado Pago's virtual wallet.
Among the complaints, @Andrestobar1990 wrote: 'I was transferred an hour ago and it still hasn't been credited to me.' Technology journalist Federico Wiemeyer also joined the questioning by posting: 'Did Mercado Pago crash?' Other users, such as @The_Rainmaker, mentioned that after transferring from Banco Galicia accounts, the money 'never arrived,' receiving an official response that the credits could take 'up to 48 hours.'
So far, the company has not issued an official statement explaining the source of the problems or detailing the estimated time for resolution. Complaints began to multiply on social media from the early hours of the afternoon, highlighting difficulties in making payments, delays in credits, and failures on the website.
According to information gathered by Noticias Argentinas, the specialized site Downdetector recorded a spike in reports of incidents, mainly related to payment failures (71%), the website (26%), and the mobile application (3%). Users like @GiselaPazz expressed their frustration by stating: 'Just when I want to use Mercado Pago, it crashes, damn it.'
