The VTV will now be conducted at private workshops. Private workshops can register to carry out inspections of vehicles that are in optimal condition and meet the technical and facility requirements. Additionally, official dealerships and authorized workshops will also be able to perform the inspections.
Regarding the prices for verification at the RTO, both for private cars and for heavy transport of goods and passengers, there will not be a single official rate in the jurisdictions that adhere to the reform of the National Traffic Law. Likewise, certification will be maintained in both physical format, like a sticker, and digital certification on the platform 'Mi Argentina'.
The national government has confirmed the closure of the Technical Vehicle Verification plants across the country. This will lead to lower costs for users, as they will not have to travel to the locations where the VTV plants are currently located. Additionally, this measure aims to simplify procedures for users of different vehicles and leverage technological advances.
Official dealerships, like private workshops, can register to perform vehicle checks if they meet the established requirements. In order to avoid queues at the VTV plants, vehicles in general will be monitored by mechanics registered in authorized workshops.
In summary, the measure announced through Decree 196/2025 aims to promote the Technical Vehicle Verification to be carried out in private workshops and official dealerships, thereby eliminating the need to travel to specific plants.
