The Secretary of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and the Secretary of Finance, Pablo Quirno, led "Argentina Day" at the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada 2025 (PDAC), the most relevant mining convention in the world that brings together explorers and producers from the industry. This annual event sets the course for investments in the international arena, where Argentina hopes to play a prominent role this year, particularly thanks to its lithium mines.
Karina Milei emphasized that Argentina is going through a new stage with a stable and growing economy, highlighting the importance of the Incentive Regime for Large Investments (RIGI) that provides legal security to investors, something uncommon in the past. She expressed her gratitude to the international community for trusting in the country undergoing change, and recognized the efforts of various governmental entities in promoting Argentina's presence at the event.
This meeting was also attended by officials such as the Secretary of Mining, Luis Lucero, the president of the Argentine Agency for Investments and International Trade, Diego Sucalesca, the Canadian Ambassador to Argentina, Stewart Wheeler, and the Argentine Ambassador to Canada, Josefina MartÃnez Gramuglia. Pablo Quirno highlighted the government's efforts to establish clear and attractive rules for investors, while Luis Lucero emphasized the push for investments and the coordination of resources to ensure the necessary infrastructure.
"Argentina Day" presented investment opportunities in lithium, copper, and other critical minerals for the energy transition. The RIGI was one of the highlights, offering significant tax benefits. Additionally, projects seeking strategic partnerships and funding to advance their development were showcased.
As part of the agenda, Karina Milei has scheduled meetings with Canadian business leaders interested in trade missions to Argentina, as well as with members of the Canadian Council for the Americas with investment projects outside the mining sector.
