The Police of Chubut is intensively searching for a dangerous prisoner, Darío Fernando 'El Loco' Cárdenas, who escaped during a psychology session. His escape was planned. The man was serving a 15-year prison sentence for the aggravated homicide of Alexis Sena in 2021 in Trelew. After committing the crime, he was sought by authorities for eight months before being captured in the coastal city of Mar del Plata. On the day of the session, he was transferred from the Provincial Penitentiary Institute to a building where he was to meet with the professional. The staff accompanied him to the door of the office but did not enter, as it is not permitted. Although the exact method of escape is not known, it is believed that he jumped out of the office window and fled on a motorcycle waiting for him on the street. When the agents realized, they notified the authorities and activated a special protocol, but it was too late. The Ministry of Security of Santa Cruz joined the operations fearing that he had crossed into the province.
