Rejection of Political Intervention by PJ Salteño

The Justicialist Party of Salta categorically rejected the intervention imposed by the National Council of the party, led by Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, labeling it 'illegal.' In a statement, they affirmed that the Salta Peronism is not a rubber stamp and that its militants, leaders, and the people cannot be intervened.

In the same vein, the PJ of Misiones also expressed its rejection of the intervention and considered it an 'institutional coup.' They asserted that they will continue to actively participate in the political life of the province and represent the Peronist militants.

The sections of the PJ of Salta and Misiones expressed their discontent with the decision of the National Council of the PJ to intervene the branches of these districts. In a joint statement, they emphasized that there is no clear reason to push for this intervention and called for political dialogue to achieve the unity of the party.

In Salta, the appointed interveners were Senator Sergio Berni and provincial deputy María Luz Alonso, while in Misiones, Mercosur parliamentarian Gustavo Arrieta and leader Máximo Rodríguez were appointed. This rejection of the intervention by Fernández de Kirchner occurs in a context of criticisms of her leadership, which have also been expressed by the provincial governor Axel Kicillof.

Recently, Kicillof launched the Movement Right to the Future (MDF) with the aim of discussing the formation of lists together with La Cámpora and the Renewal Front for the legislative elections. Furthermore, it has been noted that this launch has created confusion in the Patria Institute and is predicted to lead to more division within Peronism.

On the other hand, in the province of Santa Fe, Fernández de Kirchner could not impose the candidacy of national senator Marcelo Lewandowski to head the list of constitutional convention delegates. The Santa Fe PJ had to reach an agreement with the local group Ciudad Futura for Juan Monteverde to be elected as the leader of the delegate list.
