The governor of Salta, Gustavo Sáenz, highlighted the challenges faced by the province due to its strategic location with three international borders, mentioning issues such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, and economic crimes. In this regard, he expressed the need for more prosecutors to expedite investigations and judicial processes, with the aim of providing quick responses to the population in terms of security.
On the other hand, the national deputy for Salta, Pamela Calletti, announced the preparation of a bill aimed at strengthening the Federal Justice in the province, which she will present in the National Congress. Calletti emphasized that these actions are aligned with the Güemes Plan and will soon hold meetings with the coordinator of prosecutors in Salta to advance in this matter.
In a meeting with the Attorney General of the Nation, Eduardo Casal, in Buenos Aires, Governor Sáenz requested the appointment of more federal prosecutors in Salta under the Güemes Plan, which has intensified proceedings and hearings related to the fight against drug trafficking. Sáenz emphasized that the implementation of the accusatory system in the province has considerably increased the judicial workload.
Deputy Calletti stressed that the approach to the drug trafficking issue is not limited to a territorial question but involves a comprehensive plan to combat this problem.
