In Salta, Argentina, a 29-year-old man has been sentenced to six years in prison for sexually abusing his cousin. The incident occurred when the victim was sleeping next to her son. Furthermore, the perpetrator had prior charges for aggravated robbery with a suspended sentence, and an additional penalty of nine years in prison was imposed on him. According to the Argentine News Agency (Agencia Noticias Argentinas), as indicated by the Salta Public Prosecutor's Office, the victim reported that she attended a friends' meeting at her cousin's home. Around 3 AM, the woman went to sleep with her son in the defendant's room, while he told her he would sleep elsewhere. Hours later, the victim woke up to find that she was being abused by her cousin. She then went to her mother's house and asked relatives for help, who took her to receive medical assistance. Judge Mónica Faber sentenced the defendant to six years and three months in prison, to be served effectively, and in the same ruling, revoked the conditional sentence for a previous aggravated robbery offense. The defendant, charged with sexual abuse with carnal access, was tried in the Trial Court of the Central District. The case was presented by the prosecutor of the Unit for Crimes Against Sexual Integrity 2, Ricardo Daniel Espilocín.
