20-Year-Old Charged with Causing Skull Fracture to Teen in Salta

A 20-year-old young man has been charged with causing a skull fracture to a 17-year-old teenager following a brawl in the city of Salta, Argentina. According to information from the local Public Prosecutor's Office, police received an alert in the early hours of January 26 about a fight on Avenida Tavella and Calle Río Toro, where a group of young people were throwing stones. Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim with a cut on his head, which led to his transfer to San Bernardo Hospital for surgery. The victim's mother filed a complaint, and the case was taken over by prosecutor Facundo Ruiz de los Llanos. According to various testimonies, the conflict started due to previous issues between two men who threatened each other and had arguments. Security camera footage recorded at least seven people picking up stones and debris to confront another large group. In this context, one of the protagonists was chased by the victim, during which the suspect threw a blunt object from a bridge onto the young man, causing a severe blow to his head. Two other minors continued the attack while he was on the ground. The Court of Guarantees No. 2 ordered raids on the homes of those involved, in which items relevant to the case were seized. Additionally, the individuals involved were identified through witness statements and the analysis of social media profiles, while charges were filed against a 20-year-old suspect for the crime of grievous bodily harm.
