A man and a woman were found guilty of drug trafficking as co-authors of a crime aggravated by the number of participants. They were sentenced for transporting 15 kilograms of marijuana from the city of Orán to Salta in February 2025. The former model, Martina Oliva, will begin serving her sentence under house arrest until the verdict becomes final. Additionally, the Toyota Hilux used for the transport of the marijuana was ordered to be seized. During the trial, the prosecution had requested 10 years for the man and 8 years for the woman, both in effective prison, and had asked for the house arrest to be revoked. In his closing argument, the prosecutor responded to the defense's claim that the woman was a victim of 'love' for her partner, stating that this does not exempt her from her responsibility, as they were 'partners in the business'. Judge Cataldi echoed this reasoning, stating in her preliminary findings: 'Love is a feeling, and we are not judging that here; we are judging facts. Reducing the woman's behavior to an act of love is typical of a patriarchal, macho, and careless society where women are sidelined. This is a novel's argument, but it ignores the empowerment of women that has been happening in recent years.'
