At a press conference at the Nueva Vida Luchando Retirees Center in Quilmes, Gabriel and Guillermo Berrozpe, along with lawyer and human rights activist Sol Bruera, detailed the events that led to their detention for almost 20 hours. This all occurred during an excessive police operation at a retirees' march.
Police violence erupted following an aggression towards Sol Bruera, which led to the intervention of the Berrozpe brothers. In the press conference, they condemned both the repressive actions of Javier Milei's government and the use of security forces to pursue and repress activists from the popular movement.
Gabriel Berrozpe expressed harsh criticism against Javier Milei, accusing him of leading a criminal government that denies resources to provinces in fundamental areas such as health, education, and security. For her part, Sol Bruera urged society not to be indifferent to the government's abuses of rights.
Guillermo Berrozpe, an activist and bank worker, emphasized the commitment to continue fighting for the rights of the most affected sectors by austerity policies. After their detention, the Berrozpe brothers and Sol Bruera called for unity and to raise their voices against injustices. They also expressed their solidarity with Governor Axel Kicillof and called for mobilization in support of the opening of legislative sessions in the province on March 5.
