The Provincial Agency for Social and Urban Integration (OPISU) has launched a Request for Proposals (SDP No. 1/2026) in Quilmes to contract a service for socio-environmental promotion and differentiated collection of solid urban waste in the Villa Itaty neighborhood, one of the most densely populated and vulnerable areas in the district. According to the Argentine News Agency, the contract will have a duration of 12 months and an official budget of $449,478,509.23, financed by the World Bank Loan 8991-AR under the «Urban Transformation Project of AMBA». The scheme includes tasks aimed at improving public space cleanliness and strengthening environmental management practices, within a framework of urban and productive integration. The resolution also frames the hiring within a program that seeks to incorporate community productive organizations, with the intention of generating local work and sustaining a regular service in neighborhoods with structural deficits in infrastructure and sanitation. The process set the deadline for bids opening for January 28, 2026, at 12:00 at the OPISU headquarters (La Plata) and enabled a technical consultation period until January 16 via the agency's official email.
