In the Buenos Aires town of Quilmes, a man was arrested for allegedly threatening with Islamic terrorist attacks through an intimidating letter. The individual, of Argentine nationality, was apprehended at his home located on La Rioja street during a raid conducted with the collaboration of the Special Federal Operations Group (GEOF).

During the operation, three notebooks with various notes, a mobile phone, a book inscribed with the Quran, a knife, and relevant documentation for the case were seized. The detainee, an adult, is at the disposal of the intervening magistrate for the crime of investigating threats.

According to authorities, the individual used social media to propagate these intimidations and on several occasions tagged and mentioned the President of the Nation, Javier Milei. The investigation was carried out by the Ministry of National Security and the Anti-Terrorism Investigation Unit (DUIA) in the province of Buenos Aires.

The incident dates back to January 27 when an intimidating letter referring to the commission of Islamic terrorist acts was found, highlighting the burning of part of the Quran. After several scans of the document, the threatening tone of the message was confirmed, leading to a deeper investigation into the identity of the author.

Through fieldwork and intelligence efforts, the individual was identified and arrested, and he remains in judicial custody awaiting upcoming legal measures.
