Eight-year-old Benicio is in critical condition with brain death at El Cruce Hospital in Florencio Varela following a tragic accident that occurred last night. The boy was playing at the Quilmes Club when he climbed onto a handball hoop that fell on his head. The little boy was a player in the children's basketball team at Argentino de Quilmes Club. He had finished his training and was playing with friends when a handball goalpost fell, and he was hit on the head, while his skull also hit the ground. Due to the urgency, the minor was admitted to the Isidoro Iriarte Hospital in Quilmes with a severe traumatic brain injury, otorhinolaryngeal hemorrhage, and cardiorespiratory arrest. After being stabilized, he was transferred to El Cruce Hospital in Florencio Varela. The incident occurred when one of the children climbed onto the mentioned object, which, not being anchored to the ground, slid and resulted in the tragic accident. As has become known in recent hours, the family of the student from the Nazareth School in Quilmes is asking for a chain of prayers as the little boy is brain dead. Likewise, the child had to undergo emergency surgery.
