Autopsy Confirms Woman in Argentina Was Strangled With Her Own Forearm

Buenos Aires, November 22 (NA) -- The autopsy of 35-year-old teacher Soledad Machuca, murdered last February in her home in Posadas, concluded that she died from mechanical asphyxiation. According to the forensic report, she was strangled with her own forearm, a key detail that strengthens the hypothesis of a planned crime rather than a domestic accident. As reported by the Argentine News Agency (NA), citing local media, the forensic report determined that the victim suffered a cervical compression 'from behind,' using her arm as a point of leverage. Meanwhile, the complainant's lawyer, Nancy Jara, described the mechanism of death as 'extremely violent,' assured that the analysis was 'absolutely exhaustive,' and stated that the report was decisive in allowing the judge to authorize the cremation of the body. Her legal team considers that the case is 'practically clarified.' To date, the main accused is Machuca's husband, Gustavo Cardozo, who has been in preventive custody since September. Additionally, the man's mother, Teresa Correa, is implicated for alleged participation in post-crime maneuvers. Jara previously stated that only the expansion of the inquiry and some pending studies remain to close the investigation and elevate the case to trial, although she opposes a physical reconstruction of the facts at the house where the crime occurred. The lawyer considered that the mentioned procedure would be 'unnecessary and re-traumatizing' for the environment, especially considering the results of the luminol test, which would have shown a scene of extreme violence. It was previously known that traces of blood were detected in the master bedroom through luminol tests, which supports the version that there was a cleanup after the crime.
