The Ministry of Health of the Buenos Aires province reported that Bastián Jerez, the boy who was seriously injured in a collision between a pickup truck and a UTV in Pinamar, is showing a 'partial response to stimuli.' His intracranial pressure sensor has been removed, and deeper sedatives have been suspended. According to a statement sent to the Argentine News Agency, the 8-year-old child has shown improvement in his condition over the last 24 hours, specifically the partial response to stimuli, which allowed doctors to remove the intracranial pressure sensor. Additionally, in the last 12 hours, it was decided to 'suspend the deeper sedatives, maintaining mild sedation with the aim of beginning a gradual process to reduce respiratory support, and thus evaluate his ability to breathe with less assistance, always progressively and under control.' Authorities detailed that, despite these slight improvements, he remains in intensive care in serious condition, but is clinically and hemodynamically stable, with mechanical respiratory assistance. Regarding the family, for several days now, they have been accompanied by the mental health teams from the said Ministry, 'with an interdisciplinary approach that includes the work of the Provincial Network of Mental Health in Critical Incidents, as well as professionals from the Provincial Hospital itself and the Sanitary Region VIII'. Imputation of Bastián's Father After Bastián's third operation in Mar del Plata concluded, the prosecutor's office in charge of the investigation requested the imputation of Maximiliano Jerez, the boy's father, considering him also responsible. In the case, Manuel Molinari, the driver of the pickup truck, and the woman driving the UTV were already accused of the crime of negligent injuries. However, an extension of the imputation against the boy's father was requested, as he was carrying the child on his lap even though the vehicle has four seats and there were five people on board.
