The latest medical report on Bastian Jerez, the minor who was seriously injured in a UTV accident in Pinamar, indicates that he is not in a condition to be transferred and has already undergone two surgeries due to his health status. According to the document accessed by the Argentine News Agency by the authorities of the Pinamar Municipal Hospital, Jerez is under mechanical respiratory support and hemodynamic instability, and upon admission, an intra-abdominal hemorrhage was detected, which required urgent surgical intervention. "During the procedure, a hepatic rupture and compromise of large vessels were evidenced, performing packing for hemorrhage containment," the hospital reported. After the surgery, he remained in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with persistent hemodynamic instability, and on Tuesday, given the scenario presented, the surgery service decided to readmit him to the operating room. This time, they explained that the replacement of the hepatic containment packing was performed and the surgical exploration was negative for active bleeding. "The Hospital maintains permanent contact and advice with the provincial reference pediatric intensive care service. Regarding his family, specialists are providing psychological support and accompaniment," they communicated. Currently, the patient remains in critical condition in the ICU and is still not in a condition to be transferred. "As soon as his clinical condition permits and with minimal stability that guarantees a safe transfer, his referral to a higher complexity center will be evaluated immediately," they reported. During the surgery, a transfusion of four units of red blood cells and plasma was performed, they detailed.
