Nahir Galarza, 26 years old, currently serving a life sentence for the murder of her boyfriend in 2017, requested a fair and equitable treatment from the justice system. The young woman, detained in Women's Penal Unit number 6 in Paraná, expressed her desire to receive the same rights as anyone else in her situation.
In an interview granted to Canal 9 in Paraná, Nahir spoke about her case, mentioning that she was never granted the benefit of the doubt and was always seen as the murderer of her boyfriend, Fernando Pastorizzo. She stated that from the beginning there was a social and media condemnation against her, which led her to anticipate the life sentence.
The young woman insisted that she never had a formal relationship with Fernando and that it could not be proven otherwise. She even presented a letter from the deceased in which he apologized for his actions, a letter that, according to Nahir, was not taken into account in the judicial process. Additionally, she mentioned that she had the backing of health professionals who corroborated that she had been harmed by her partner.
Nahir mentioned that she tried to reach out to Fernando's parents to ask for forgiveness, but they rejected the meeting. The young woman believes that the media created a distorted image of her, exaggerating her personality and her alleged coldness.
Despite having spent seven years in prison and facing the prospect of remaining incarcerated until she is 53, Nahir Galarza assured that this experience has allowed her to grow and gain greater clarity in her life. She states that she has used this time to study languages and social psychology remotely, trying to demonstrate a positive change in herself.
Regarding the series and book that have been released about her life, Nahir admitted to having seen the movie based on her case but not the series. She emphasized that the book only mentions her conviction and not the details of her case.
