The incident occurred when a 12-year-old boy, Esteban Bogado, tried to retrieve a ball that had entered the priest's property. The child climbed onto the gate, which was electrified, and received an electric shock for over a minute. According to the boy's mother, Flavia Lezana, his condition is improving minute by minute. The priest, César Jesús Schmidt, was ordered to set his place of residence and is not allowed to leave the city. The boy was taken to hospital in critical condition after receiving resuscitation at the scene. He was described as having burns on his legs.
