
Luis Benjamín Benítez is the man accused of murdering delivery driver Lucas Aguilar with seven stab wounds in Moreno, Buenos Aires province. Benítez has an extensive criminal record spanning 19 years.
Among the previous offenses of the alleged murderer is his detention on March 3, 2006, for aggravated robbery in a populated area and in a gang. In May 2009, he was arrested for attempted robbery, followed by another arrest in July of that same year for simple robbery. In September, he was detained again for attempted simple robbery and in October for aggravated robbery.
Despite being housed in prison unit number 43 in Florencio Varela, Benítez regained his freedom but soon returned to prison for another attempted aggravated robbery. In 2015, he was charged with "damage" and in 2017, he was arrested again for the most serious crime up to that point, attempted homicide.
On April 25, 2022, at the age of 38, Benítez was detained again for attempted robbery. Additionally, on January 20 of the same year, ten days before the delivery driver's murder, he was captured for another attempted robbery.
