In Argentina, in the city of Moreno, a Chilean recidivist with an extensive criminal record was arrested. The suspect, 58-year-old Leopoldo Alberto Jara Araya, was apprehended after police tracked the vehicle used in an armed robbery of a retired couple's home. The incident occurred on December 15, when an armed group broke into the home of 94-year-old textile businessman Alberto Nine, brutally beating him and tying him up along with his 66-year-old partner Sandra Pucheta to steal jewelry, cash, and electronic devices. During the operation, the car used by the criminal was seized, and during raids, police found over a million pesos in cash, four mobile phones, and the key to the vehicle. Police also confiscated mobile phones and money. The detainee has a criminal record dating back to 2005, including convictions for qualified theft, illegal possession of a war weapon, and possession of lockpicks.
