18-Year-Old Thief Shot by Police in Moreno

An 18-year-old robber was shot dead and a 15-year-old was injured during a confrontation with the police after committing a robbery in the Moreno area, located in the west of the Buenos Aires metropolitan area. The criminals, accompanied by an accomplice, were riding two motorcycles and, after assaulting several passersby, attempted to rob a member of the City Police.

In the ensuing altercation, the officer identified himself and confronted the young men, resulting in the death of one of them on the spot, while another was critically injured and the third managed to escape. The deceased, José Luis Coria, had a criminal record for several offenses in the City and in the Province of Buenos Aires, with an active arrest warrant.

The 15-year-old, identified as T. A. B. G., received three gunshots and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is in serious condition. Additionally, the service weapon of Officer Ariel Llarrull was confiscated, who will have to give his statement to the relevant authorities.

During the first 29 days of the year 2025, 31 confrontations have been reported between members of the City Police and criminals attempting to rob in the province of Buenos Aires. This means that a member of the police force is attacked on average every 22 hours.
