Today in the city, a train strike began in rejection of the salary offer of 3.53%, deemed insufficient against the high accumulated inflation rate of 46%. The measure, which was supposed to last from 9 AM to 3 PM, started early, causing inconveniences for thousands of passengers who were forced to look for alternatives to reach their destinations.
One affected passenger commented: "I have six children and I can't afford to not work for a day. I always take the train, it takes me 45 minutes, but today I have to take the bus and the journey is much longer. I had to leave my house earlier to try to travel calmly."
At the main terminals, long lines of passengers were observed waiting to take the bus that would take them to their jobs or activities. In Moreno, for example, lines of nearly two blocks formed as people sought alternative transportation. While waiting, they expressed their frustration with the situation, like another user who mentioned: "I have lost the day, I am talking to my boss to see what solution there is. I am arriving late to work."
Other railway unions, such as the Railway Union and ASFA, have already accepted agreements, which leaves La Fraternidad in a more isolated position regarding its strike stance. Passengers affected by the strike were forced to adapt to the circumstances and find alternative means of transport to fulfill their work and daily commitments.
