President Javier Milei would visit Mendoza during the month of February, as part of the so-called 'Tour of Gratitude', in which he visits cities in the interior to thank for the support of his management since December 2023. According to Noticias Argentinas agency, the date is not yet confirmed, however, it would be at the end of the month, once the Labor Modernization Bill promoted by the National Government is approved. One of the activities Milei has planned is a meeting with Governor Alfredo Cornejo, after the public support he gave to La Libertad Avanza (LLA) following the meeting with Minister of the Interior, Diego Santilli, within the framework of the tour to gain supporters in favor of the labor reform that will be debated in extraordinary sessions. The Mendoza governor expressed firm and explicit support for the Labor Modernization Project, even qualifying the initiative as an 'essential' measure to update the current law in our country. In the same vein, Cornejo stated that the legislation we maintain in the labor field is 'outdated' and even called it 'anti-worker', because, in his appreciation, it prevents the creation of genuine employment. For the governor, the reform proposed by the Government will 'facilitate' that companies, especially SMEs, 'lose their fear of hiring new workers', so he considers that the project has a 'high probability of being approved' in Congress. For the moment, it is not known how Milei's tour of the interior of the country will continue, however, this week it would be confirmed which activities the President will have before the start of the ordinary sessions on the 1st.
