In the town of Ezeiza, Buenos Aires Province, a doctor, a nurse, and an ambulance driver have been accused of stealing the cell phone of Malena Maidana. The 26-year-old woman was stabbed to death with ten knife wounds, and the phone, which was found among her belongings, was later discovered at the workplace of the healthcare professionals. According to the Argentine News Agency and local media reports, the theft is believed to have occurred when the three accused arrived at the crime scene in an ambulance to confirm the victim's death. Meanwhile, as investigators tried to identify the murderer, they noticed that Maidana's phone was missing and tracked its location, which they believed was with the killer. However, the results showed that the phone was in the room used as a base by the medical staff on duty that night. The three accused were detained following an investigation by the Ezeiza Prosecutor's Office No. 1, led by Florencia Belloc, but the case is now being handled by Prosecutor's Office No. 3, headed by María González, a specialist in gender-based violence. Malena Maidana was stabbed to death when she went for a walk in the neighborhood of La Unión, where she lived, on Sunday, February 22, around 10:30 PM. She was found dead, face down, by a neighbor who was taking out the trash before midnight.
