Large Fire in Ezeiza's Industrial Park

Buenos Aires, November 15, 2025 (NA) -- The Municipality of Ezeiza issued an official statement at 6:15 AM with an update on the status of the large-scale fire at the Carlos Spegazzini Industrial Park. According to information obtained by Noticias Argentinas, the report confirms that Iron Mountain is one of the companies affected by the flames and clarifies the origin of the dense black smoke plume. The firefighters' operation is currently focused on protecting the company Flamia, which "stores highly flammable products," to prevent further spread. The fire reportedly began around 9:00 PM on Friday at the facility of Logischem, a company dedicated to the storage and distribution of chemical products. The fire spread to several neighboring companies, including Iron Mountain, Larroca Minera, Almacén de Frío, Aditivos Alimentarios, and a distributor named Salón. Fortunately, "all are out of danger." Authorities reported that "there are no firm hypotheses yet about the origin of the fire and the explosion." The municipality clarified that the company "has approved blueprints and a valid permit." Officially, the air is not contaminated, and the "dense black cloud" is the result of "tire combustion at the Larroca Minera plant." Authorities stated that "at this time, no signs of chemical contamination spreading in the air have been detected." Eight people were transferred to the Ezeiza Hospital (2 police officers and 6 civilians). There are no fatalities or serious injuries. The Ezeiza-Cañuelas Highway will remain closed in both directions (from Ezeiza to Spegazzini) "until further notice." The extinction tasks are expected to last another 24 to 36 hours. The public is asked to avoid the area to not hinder the extinguishing operations.
