New Developments in Loan Case

Judge Cristina Pozzer Penzo requested the statement of lawyer José Codazzi, who previously represented Laudelina Peña, Loan's aunt, the missing boy. Codazzi had advised Peña to declare that Loan had died after being run over by two of the kidnapping suspects. Recently, one of the phones seized from Codazzi for forensic analysis was activated, linking him again to the investigation, as it is suspected that he may have deleted relevant information to harm the case.

On the other hand, Juan Pablo Gallego, lawyer for Loan's family, confirmed the complaint against Gustavo Vera, president of the Vera Foundation, labeling him as 'the first confessant in the Loan case.' Gallego claims that Vera has no information about drug trafficking or human trafficking, although he links his actions to personal, economic, and media interests. Gallego stated that Vera self-incriminated in various crimes in a recorded statement, suggesting that the NGO president may have information about Loan's whereabouts.

The Justice took drastic action upon discovering that one of the cell phones under forensic examination in the Loan case was turned on without authorization, which could compromise the ongoing investigation.
