In the case of the disappearance of Loan Danilo Peña in Corrientes, a new turn has occurred with the DNA analysis of the daughter of the detained Carlos Pérez. This happened after a woman claimed to have located Pérez in Tierra del Fuego, where Sofía Herrera was last seen.
Pérez's daughter drew media attention for her resemblance to Sofía, the girl who disappeared in 2008 in Tierra del Fuego. Despite this, Herrera's own mother confirmed that it was not her daughter, although the comparison continues to generate debate in recent hours.
According to information obtained by the Argentine News Agency, "a woman located Pérez in Tierra del Fuego, at the time and place where Sofía Herrera was." After her declaration, the Justice system considered her testimony credible and ordered a DNA analysis. This was carried out in Chaco, where the detained man's daughter resides, and the sample was sent to Buenos Aires for analysis.
The Tierra del Fuego Police were present coordinating the process along with the Chaco personnel. The result of the DNA analysis could be revealed in approximately a month and, if relevant, could have a significant impact on the cases of Loan and Sofía.
Meanwhile, the case of Lian Flores' disappearance in the province of Córdoba has renewed attention on the Alerta Sofía program, which began in 2019 in honor of the girl last seen in Tierra del Fuego while traveling with her parents.
