The stage of arguments in the trial against Leonardo Cositorto in Corrientes, in the case for the alleged mega scam of Generación Zoe, begins today after the closure of witness testimonies. This Wednesday, February 19, in the morning, the audience for the reading of arguments will start where all parties, prosecution, plaintiffs, and defense, will present their arguments in one of the most important cases in the country regarding the alleged pyramid scheme led by Cositorto.
Prior to the arguments, two people suggested by the defense testified on Tuesday, thus concluding the statements in the trial that began in October and has Cositorto and five other individuals as defendants.
The Judiciary of that province announced that the Trial Court decided that the arguments would end on the same day, and that each would have 80 minutes for their argumentation, so it is estimated that it will be almost seven hours of hearing.
First, the prosecution, represented by Rubén Barry and María Eugenia Ballará will argue, followed by the plaintiffs, represented by Pablo Andrés Fleitas and Alejandra Soledad Fleitas. Lastly, it will be the turn of the private lawyers defending Cositorto and Maximiliano Batista, Guillermo Dragotto and José Codazzi. Also present will be the defender of Miguel Ángel Echegaray and Lucas Damián Camelino, Andrés Buffil, and the lawyer for brothers Nicolás and Javier Medina, Joaquín Jorge Sebastián Romero.
At the moment, it has not been disclosed when the verdict against the six defendants will be known, but it is estimated that it will be before the end of February.
"Cositorto testified again in the trial. Through a brief testimony, Cositorto asserted that all the activities carried out were within the legal framework. Furthermore, the accused answered questions from the defense and for almost 15 minutes expressed his views on the entire operation of the company Generación Zoe."
