The governor of Corrientes, Gustavo Valdés, has assumed the presidency of the provincial UCR, expressing the need to eliminate the PASO. He believes that this system is ineffective and that society should not finance matters that are the responsibility of political parties.
During a press conference at the Central Committee of the Corrientes UCR, Valdés announced that radicalism will initiate talks with other political parties with the aim of moving forward for the upcoming elections. He also indicated that the candidates of the provincial ruling party will be announced at the time established by the Electoral Code.
Valdés assured that to win the elections they will work on building the best proposals for society. The governor committed to continue strengthening the party and seeking rapprochement with other political forces.
The Central Committee of the UCR had announced last December that Valdés would become the new president of the party in Corrientes, as he was the only one to present a list for the renewal of authorities.
