Police Officer Charged with Sexual Abuse After Young Woman's Murder

Police officer Horacio Grasso, who is detained for killing and hiding the body of young woman Milagros Basto in a closet in Córdoba province, has been charged with sexual abuse of a relative. According to the victim's complaint, the abuse would have occurred between March and August 2021 at the home located on Buenos Aires Street at number 300, the same apartment where the police found Basto's body in July 2025. The charge for the crime of sexual abuse with carnal access, qualified by kinship and by the use of narcotics, was issued by Ingrid Vago, prosecutor for Crimes against Sexual Integrity. It all began when Milagros Basto's family reported her disappearance between November and December 2024. From then on, various search operations were launched, all with negative results. Nevertheless, everything changed in mid-July of last year when construction workers, who were making repairs in Grasso's house, where he was serving house arrest for the murder of Facundo Novillo Cancinos, found a closet sealed with cement, so they alerted the Police. Several weeks passed as the doubt persisted due to the advanced state of decomposition of the corpse. After the first results of the forensic examinations, it was possible to determine that it was Basto, and the autopsy confirmed that the young woman had been killed six months earlier, at the time of her disappearance.
