Union Head Criticizes CGT's "Sunday-Like" Strike in Argentina

Union Head Criticizes CGT's "Sunday-Like" Strike in Argentina

The head of the Metal Workers' Union (UOM) in Córdoba, Rubén Urbano, stated that the strike called by the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) is "Sunday-like". He said it's a strike with a mobilization, not a "Sunday rest," which is not suitable at these crucial moments. "This is not about whether a salary increase is signed or not, this is about something serious like the removal of rights that we, workers, have. This cannot be resolved with a 24-hour strike. An active strike of indefinite duration is necessary," he emphasized. He also described the force measure taken by the CGT yesterday as "lukewarm" after a leadership meeting and in protest of the labor reform promoted by President Javier Milei in Congress.
