A study in Córdoba, Argentina, found that 63% of divorces involve spouses aged 41-60. It also revealed that women are more likely to initiate divorce in long marriages, while men do so in shorter ones.

A group of researchers published an analysis of divorce rulings issued by the Family Courts of Córdoba between 2022 and 2024, finding that these typically occur when spouses are between 41 and 60 years old. According to the study, accessed by the Argentine News Agency, 63% of people who applied for divorce were between 41 and 60 years old, while 19% of spouses were between 31 and 40. The survey was published by the Ricardo Núñez Training Center and also highlighted that in 10% of cases, the parties were between 61 and 70 years old. Some cases were even observed where marriages had lasted for more than 30 years. In the same report, the researchers indicated that it is predominantly women who initiate divorce proceedings in marriages lasting between 20 and 30 years, while men tend to do so in shorter relationships. In the survey, it was stated that "of all the data collected and analyzed, it can be mentioned that the average duration of marriages was 14 years and that divorce proceedings took place during the mature stage of the spouses' lives." It was also found that after divorce, four out of ten children continue to live mainly in the mother's home, that is, 39%. Meanwhile, 25% arranged for personal care under the alternating mode, and 8.7% of the children remain in the father's home.
