Córdoba School's Controversial Re-Enrollment Decision

A private school in Córdoba refused to enroll a student for the 2025 school year due to past behavioral issues, which brought the case to provincial court. The student's family decided to turn to the courts after the school informed them that they could not enroll the minor in fourth year due to his history of misbehavior during the early years of secondary school.

The judge on duty, Guillermo Cerda López, ordered the school to allow the provisional re-enrollment of the student for 2025 and requested that the student maintain the improvement in his behavior, as he did during the previous year. In the ruling, the judge highlighted that the minor showed significant improvement in his behavior during 2024 and that it is crucial to allow the renewal of enrollment.

In a hearing, the 15-year-old expressed his desire to continue at the school and complete his secondary education there. The judge considered the best interests of the child, his right to remain at a school close to his residence, and the opinion of the teenager, who has attended the institution since he was 4 years old.

After a hearing with the parents and the school representative where no agreement was reached, the judge made the final decision in favor of the student's re-enrollment. Despite the order to allow the student’s entry, the magistrate recommended that the parents seek enrollment in another educational institution as a precaution. He also asked the student to continue improving his behavior in school.
