Buenos Aires, March 22 (NA) -- A 48-year-old man died this Sunday following a street fight in the town of Cañuelas, Buenos Aires Province, and two people have been detained in connection with the incident. Police sources informed the Noticias Argentinas agency that the homicide was perpetrated at the intersection of San Vicente and Basavilbaso streets, where police arrived after a 911 call. Neighbors reported that a person was lying in the middle of the street, and upon arrival, officers from the Patrol Command identified the victim as Guillermo Bastiano; they then confirmed he was dead next to his bicycle. Based on initial investigations, which included analysis of cameras from the Municipal Operations Center and testimony from a witness, police established that Bastiano had been in a fight with two other men on the street. During the assault, the suspects beat him, causing him to fall and subsequently die. With the information gathered and through surveillance camera tracking, police managed to identify and locate the perpetrators. The individuals involved were identified as Alan David Mendoza, 22, and Franco Ezequiel Guillermo, 23. The case has been classified as homicide and is being handled by Cañuelas' Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) No. 1, which has ordered expert examinations, witness testimonies, and the collection of more footage.
