Buenos Aires, January 27, 2026 - Over 10,000 people participated in the parade and celebrations for the 204th anniversary of the Cañuelas district, combining tradition and local identity. According to municipal sources, the event took place on Avenida Libertad between 9 de Julio and San Martín. Traditionalist centers such as Colorados del Monte, Federación de Centros Tradicionalistas, Gauchos de Uribelarrea, Riendas de Uribelarrea, El Cencerro, El Potro, Las Cañuelas, and El Reservado (Tristán Suárez) participated. The day began with an artisans and entrepreneurs' fair at Plaza San Martín, attended by locals and visitors. At 7:00 PM, the parade officially began, preceded by recognitions: one to Carlos Loray for his career as a gaucho writer and his contribution to local culture, and another to the family of Mario Díaz in homage to his legacy and commitment to Cañuelas' history. After the awards ceremony, the parade opened with the participation of dance and folk groups, including Agrupación Colibrí, Pasión Folklórica, Taller de Folclore Adultos del ICC, and many others. The first part of the day also featured a display of classic and antique cars by the Cañuelas Antique Vehicles Association (AVAC). In the evening, after the official greeting and the traditional request for permission from the foreman to the mayor, the nocturnal Creole parade began, hosted by Pablo Domínguez and Jorge Alonso, with the accompaniment of payador Oscar Silva.
