A man brutally attacked a dog in Berisso this morning, biting and choking it until causing its death. Following the violent incident, the aggressor, identified as Lucas MartÃn Bidondo, 38 years old, was arrested by officers of the Patrol Command. The events occurred at the La Plata Police Station after receiving a report from neighbors about an individual acting violently in the Villa Progreso neighborhood.
Upon arriving at the scene, the officers found the man banging his head against the ground and with injuries to his scalp. Upon noticing the police presence, the aggressor ran into his house, grabbed his dog, a puppy, and carried out the violent attack in front of the officers who witnessed the horrific scene. After the arrest, Bidondo was taken to the Larrain Hospital in Berisso under police custody, where he was charged with resistance to authority, self-harm, and violation of law 14.346 (Animal Cruelty).
Now the authorities are investigating whether the accused is accountable and if he will be sent to prison or to a psychiatric facility. The criminal case has been filed in Prosecutor's Office 1 in La Plata under the supervision of Ana Medina. The brutality of the attack has caused shock in the community and highlighted the need to investigate and punish this type of animal cruelty acts exemplarily.
