An important forest fire broke out this Sunday afternoon in Berisso, in the area of calle 611, between Route 15 and Route 11, where the fire affected large extensions of pastures and several hectares. The fire started around 19:30 and, after an intense operation, was completely extinguished around 22:30, according to official sources to the Noticias Argentinas Agency. Authorities indicated that no people were injured, although material damage was significant due to the magnitude of the fire. At the scene, Volunteer Firefighters of Berisso worked, deploying a total of six vehicles, including a fire truck, a tanker truck, three forest units, and a personnel transport, with the participation of 20 personnel. In addition, Berisso Civil Defense intervened, collaborating with three vehicles, including a command unit, a 4x4 vehicle, and a quad, along with six agents, for support tasks, perimeter control, and prevention. The fire was declared extinguished, although authorities continue with the investigations to determine the causes of the event. While there are no detainees at the moment, it is not ruled out that the fire was intentionally set. The proceedings continue to establish responsibilities and prevent new outbreaks in the area.
