Man arrested for domestic violence in Berisso

A 31-year-old man of Paraguayan origin was arrested in Berisso, Buenos Aires, for keeping his 24-year-old partner captive in his own home. The woman was beaten and threatened with a knife to prevent her from leaving.

The incident took place on Monday when the young woman managed to call for help to 911 after suffering domestic violence. During her testimony, the woman explained that she was attacked with the knife found in the house and that she had been prevented from leaving since the previous day.

The aggressor was immediately arrested and taken to the Berisso police station. Meanwhile, the victim received assistance from SAME personnel and was transferred to a local hospital, where it was confirmed that her injuries were not severe. The case was classified as "assault, threats, and unlawful deprivation of liberty". UFIJ No. 2 intervened, supporting the arrest and requesting the defendant's appearance at a hearing.

After receiving the report and police assistance, the aggressor was arrested and the knife used to attack the victim was seized. According to local reports, the agents found the woman with visible injuries, especially to her right eye, upon entering the home.
