New MotoGP Season Kicks Off in Thailand with Argentine Hopes

The new MotoGP season will kick off this Thursday night with the free practice sessions of the Thailand Grand Prix. Argentine riders Máximo Perrone and Marco Morelli (both on KTM) are full of hope in the Moto3 class. As for the premier class of motorcycle racing, Spanish rider Marc Márquez (Ducati) will attempt to repeat last year's feat, where he had one of the most dominant seasons in history to secure his seventh title in the class and equal the mark of Italian legend Valentino Rossi. If he wins again, the 33-year-old Márquez will tie the record for most wins in the class, held by Italian Giacomo Agostini. Besides last year's title, his other championships came in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. In Moto3, Argentina has double reason for excitement thanks to the participation of Perrone and Morelli. Perrone comes off an incredible 2025 season where he finished 10th with 134 points and achieved strong results, including podiums in the Netherlands and Hungary. Morelli, for his part, finished 24th with 18 points, which is explained by the fact that he competed in only a few Grands Prix (he participated in 5 out of 8).

Perrone and Morelli's Moto3 Schedule (Argentina Time) Thursday, 26/2: Free Practice at 23:00 Friday, 27/2: Practice 1 at 02:15 Practice 2 at 22:40 Saturday, 28/2: Qualifying 1 at 02:45 Qualifying 2 at 03:10 Sunday: Race at 02:00
