
The head of the Justicialist Party (PJ), Cristina Kirchner, will participate in a meeting at the headquarters of the Transport Mechanics and Related Union (SMATA) and will be received by Ricardo Pignanelli, the union's secretary general and a member of the former president's list in the party's internal elections. This meeting will take place at 11:30 AM, before the ruling of the Cassation Chamber is issued in the Vialidad case, where Cristina Kirchner is being investigated.
In the aforementioned case, it is expected to confirm or deny the six-year prison sentence and lifelong disqualification from holding public office imposed on the former president for the public administration fraud case related to the awarding of road works to Lázaro Báez during her administration. In this scenario, Cristina Kirchner will reappear in the scene leading a working meeting at the headquarters on Avenida Belgrano 665, with leaders of the space that make up the First the Homeland list, which elected her as party president.
Ricardo Pignanelli had previously criticized the governor of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, for not providing concrete support to Cristina Kirchner during the internal conflict with Ricardo Quintela, stating that "he lacked to say something more." Pignanelli also asserted that the former president is the right person to lead the PJ, as he believes that currently the space lacks content and warned that they risk ending up like the radicals if they continue down that path.
As for Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, after being appointed head of the party, she has maintained an active agenda participating in various activities. Recently, she met with SME entrepreneurs in Avellaneda and visited a recycling plant in Lomas de Zamora where 200 cartoneros work in popular cooperatives. During her visit to the Eco Point in Villa Fiorito, she met with national deputy Natalia Zaracho from Union for the Homeland, known for being the first cartonera to hold a position in the National Congress, in the presence of Juan Grabois. Grabois had also visited the provincial governor, Axel Kicillof, along with other members of his political organization in La Plata.
