Diana Mondino Resigns as Argentina's Foreign Minister

Diana Mondino announced her resignation from her position as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship, stating that she did so with great effort and dedication to fulfill the mandate of President Javier Milei. Mondino expressed that working with the government on the project to lift Argentina was a great honor and challenge.

In her own words, Mondino emphasized: “I submit my resignation from the position with which I was honored knowing that I have done everything possible, with great effort and dedication, and I would do it again, to fulfill my mandate as minister.” She also highlighted the importance of getting Argentina back on its feet and regaining international respect that she believes the country should not have lost.

Mondino's resignation came after Javier Milei decided to dismiss her due to Argentina’s vote against the United States' embargo on Cuba at the UN. He appointed Gerardo Werthein, who was serving as the ambassador to the United States, in her place. Mondino stated that her management was in line with government guidelines and that she worked hard to meet the president's expectations.
