Controversial Transport Strike in Argentina

Yesterday's transport strike was described as forceful by Eduardo Belliboni, leader of the Polo Obrero, in an interview with Radio Splendid. Belliboni criticized the Union of Automotive Tramway Workers (UTA), stating that it is historic to see how it betrays its own workers. Additionally, he expressed concern over the lack of dialogue in different sectors and the pressure exerted by the use of the state to resolve conflicts, describing the situation as a science fiction scene.

Regarding UTA's decision to suspend the planned bus strike for Thursday after reaching an agreement with the Government and employers, Belliboni lamented this measure and pointed out that the social situation is worsening in such basic aspects as food assistance. He criticized the Government for not considering a less severe adjustment for the most vulnerable sectors and warned that uncertainty will continue in the future.

Furthermore, Belliboni emphasized that the population has the right to complete the presidential mandate and refuted statements made by Javier Milei, whom he accused of betraying his followers by claiming that the "caste" would be the ones to pay for the adjustment. In this context, the leader called for coherence and social responsibility from the authorities and political actors in the country.
