Resignation of Chancellor Diana Mondino

The Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos, stated that Diana Mondino was an excellent official and that her departure from the position came at the express request of President Javier Milei. In a recent interview, Francos affirmed that Mondino leaves on good terms with the Government, despite the situation. Moreover, he mentioned that she was offered the role of ambassador in other places, but President Milei preferred her to stay in her current position.

Regarding his successor in the Palacio San Martín, Gerardo Werthein, it has been announced that he will remain in the United States until the local elections on November 5. On the other hand, it was reported that an audit of career staff in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship will be conducted to identify possible "promoters of enemy agendas of freedom."

Concerning the transportation strike on Wednesday, Francos described it as a "little strike" and considered it to have a political character. He opined that Mondino's resignation was due to a disagreement with the president over the economic embargo on Cuba in the context of the United Nations General Assembly. Francos assured that Mondino resigned at the President's request and dismissed the idea that these types of measures would affect potential investments in the country.

Regarding the image of the Government, Francos mentioned that, despite previous criticisms, current consulting firms indicate an improvement due to economic results. Finally, the Chief of Staff opined that the union leaders who called for the strike fear that the Government will do well, which would affect their interests. He also highlighted the efforts of people who, despite the difficulties caused by the strike, woke up early to go to work.
