Significant Cabinet Reshuffle in Argentina

The government of Javier Milei has experienced a series of significant changes in its team, with the departure of at least 30 key officials in different areas. This restructuring began with the removal of Foreign Minister Diana Mondino, who will be replaced by Gerardo Werthein, the current Argentine ambassador to the United States.

Mondino's resignation was preceded by that of the former Secretary of Energy of the Nation, Eduardo Rodríguez Chirillo, who left his position for 'personal reasons'. The ministry that has recorded the highest number of resignations or dismissals is the Ministry of Human Capital, where the departure of Pablo de la Torre, former Secretary of Childhood, Adolescence, and Family, was particularly noted, who was removed due to the appearance of tons of undelivered food for popular dining halls.

This resignation also involved the departure of other relevant officials, such as Héctor Calvente, former Undersecretary of Social Policies; Lucía Raskovsky, former Undersecretary of Territorial Policies; and Ana Marmora, former Undersecretary of Family Policies of the Childhood Secretariat.

Other areas affected by these changes were the Ministry of Economy, with the departure of Flavia Royón and Fernando Vilella, among others; and the Chief of Cabinet, where Guillermo Francos replaced Nicolás Posse. Also, there were dismissals in the Presidency area, with the resignation of Fausto Spotorno and Teddy Karagozian, among others.

It is important to highlight that, in addition to the resignations, some officials were dismissed from their positions. Among them are Omar Yasín, former Secretary of Labor; Mariana Hortal Sueldo, former Undersecretary of Labor Relations; and Horacio Pitrau, former Undersecretary of Labor, among others. In general, these changes have generated a significant reorganization in Milei's government cabinet.
