Presidential Financial Audits Announced in Argentina

The Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, Federico Sturzenegger, announced that an audit of expenses in universities will be conducted to ensure transparency in the use of public funds. In an interview with the Todo Noticias channel, Sturzenegger expressed his concern over the destination of money not allocated to teachers or operational costs, stating that it is necessary to audit contracts involving universities.

Referring to Congress, Sturzenegger criticized its passage of laws without the necessary financial backing, describing its actions as that of a child who encountered an adult President. He highlighted fiscal responsibility as a fundamental point, asserting that he will veto any bill that is financially irresponsible.

The minister praised the President's stance and his passionate approach to the country, comparing him to Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. He emphasized the importance of respecting institutions and laws, as well as seeking consensus through public and political dialogue. Regarding a possible labor reform, Sturzenegger assured that it should benefit both workers and employers, rejecting those that harm either party.

In the midst of a university conflict, the official insisted on the need to integrate university expenses into the Integrated Financial Information System and ensure that salaries and expenses are properly recorded. He also stressed that the Government has granted the largest salary increase to teachers and has restored funding expenditures that had been frozen in the previous administration.
