Daniel Scioli, Secretary of Tourism, Environment, and Sports of the Nation, has defended his participation in the government of Javier Milei, arguing that his experience can be a valuable contribution. During his presentation in the lower house, Scioli responded to criticisms from Kirchnerist deputies for joining libertarian ranks, explaining that his decision was driven by the possibility of contributing to the country.
In an extensive meeting in the Budget committee, Scioli faced objections from deputies of Union for the Homeland, who questioned his political shift. In response to the criticisms, the official emphasized his democratic commitment, responsibility, and background, highlighting that he saw his union with the libertarian government as an opportunity to contribute from his experience.
Scioli also referred to the issue of Aerolíneas Argentinas, expressing that the country cannot sustain an airline that generates losses and questioning the Previaje program. The criticisms from the deputies of Union for the Homeland focused on his transition to libertarian forces after aspiring to the presidency with the Frente de Todos in 2023.
Regarding the privatization of football clubs through Sports Anonymous Societies (SAD), Scioli clarified that the Government does not impose this measure but provides clubs with the option to consider it as a way to solve their economic problems. He highlighted that the approval of this new corporate form requires a decision made by two-thirds of the club assembly, addressing the criticisms and questions from the present legislators.
