Victoria Villarruel, vice president, continues with the restructuring process in the National Senate, dismissing a total of 20 workers in this latest action. This raises the number of layoffs this year to 439.
At the end of April, Villarruel established the Commission for Staffing Analysis (CAD) with the purpose of reviewing and optimizing human resources in the senate for better allocation of public resources in different areas. Unclear situations were detected in the existing structure that required attention.
The new dismissal measure focuses on employees with temporary staff appointments, following what is established in Article 52 of Law 24.600. This action is part of a plan to rationalize public spending and the preservation of the State and taxpayers, according to the justification of the national government.
The vice president has characterized this process as a "hunt for 'ñoquis'," referring to employees who do not perform their functions effectively. The CAD, composed of several key members of the senate, will issue recommendations to optimize the use of human resources once the analysis of the situation is completed.
Among the implemented measures is the System of Attendance Control by Biometric Data for permanent staff, evidencing a focus on efficiency and transparency in the management of human resources in the National Senate.
