Government Announces Dissolution of AFIP Amid Job Concerns

The head of AEFIP, Pablo Flores, warns that there is no margin to avoid a plan of struggle in response to the dissolution of the AFIP announced by the Government. Flores expressed in press statements the need for mobilizations and additional measures once the details are known, highlighting the concern for the 3,100 jobs at risk.

In line with this position, Flores pointed out that if the Government believes there is excess personnel in the State, there are widespread complaints about the lack of employees in all areas. This criticism adds to the uncertainty generated by the announcement of the dissolution of the AFIP in favor of the creation of the Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA), a new body supposedly more efficient and economical.

According to presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni, the measure will involve a 45% reduction in senior authorities and a 31% reduction at lower levels, which will lead to a 34% elimination of the current structure and an estimated savings of 6.4 billion pesos per year. In light of this situation, the AEFIP union, which represents AFIP employees, is evaluating the possibility of implementing measures of force in rejection of the dissolution of the agency.
