The Government has officially announced today the elimination of the Registry of Lawyers and Administrative Managers through Resolution 982/2024 published in the Official Gazette. This measure aims to simplify pension procedures, removing bureaucratic obstacles so that citizens have the freedom to choose how and with whom to manage their affairs.
Mariano de los Heros, head of Anses, stated that they consider this registry unnecessary and contrary to the freedom of citizens to choose who will represent them. He highlighted that since the profession of lawyer is regulated by professional associations across the country, the existence of a special registry to work with ANSES was redundant.
He emphasized that freedom and transparency are fundamental values in the management of ANSES, leading to the repeal of this resolution which did not provide benefits and could complicate or increase the costs of procedures for beneficiaries. The same resolution points out that the regulatory framework of the Civil and Commercial Code of the Nation already regulates acts between private parties regarding mandates and representations, which made the provisions of the registry an unnecessary duplication of existing norms.
From Anses, it was noted that it is not mandatory to hire managers or lawyers to carry out procedures with ANSES, but citizens have the right to do so if they wish. This measure is part of the administrative transformation process included in Law 27.742, known as the Law of Bases and Starting Points for the Freedom of Argentines.
